Grade 1

Students study:

 

*     Their roles and responsibilities towards their community.

*     Interrelationships among people.

*     People’s  needs and wants.

*     The relationship between people and their environment.

 

 

Grade 2

Students learn about :

 

*     Maps, globe, map key, and the symbols of cardinal directions.

*     The meaning of history and how things change over time.

*     Traditions and exploration.

*     The concept of citizen and their responsibilities towards society.

 

 

 

Grade 3

Students learn about:

 

*     The objectives of defining government  and royalty.

*     The concepts of the laws, governments, and traffic.

*     The reasoning for laws.

*     Definitions of  consequences, landmark, and historical places.

*     Definitions and descriptions of the terms: tombs, ancient, modern, nomads, lagoons, and pyramids.

*     The difference between cooperation and defiance.

*     Regarding problem solving.

*     The concepts of healthy diet.

 

 

Grade 4

Students begin to learn about :

 

*     The physical features of the earth surface and the concepts of latitude and longitude.

*     The basic knowledge about the map components including the compass rules, cardinal and intermediate directions, scale and symbols, and investigate on how to measure distances on a map.

*     Applying knowledge on understanding money and budget usage.

*     The importance of leadership, election process and the government services.

 


 

Grade 5

Students learn about :

 

*     Identifying the usefulness of the lines of latitude and longitude.

*     Reading and making a grid map.

*    The different map types and their uses.

*    The process of civilization establishment and the contribution of different civilizations, the benefits and harmful effects of economic industries.

*    Trade and the country’s economy.

 

 

Grade 6

Students learn about :

 

*     Differentiating among various ecosystems.

*     Information about the natural disasters.

 

 

 

Grade 7

The students are able to learn about :

 

*     The geography of ancient Mesopotamia and the occupations that was done by our ancestors, which was farming and hunting.

*     The Phoenicians and Lydian's.

*     Early and later Egyptian rulers.

*     The American civilizations.

*     The different kinds of people, countries, events and government around the world.

 

 

Grade 8

The students are able to learn more about :

 

*     Different civilizations.

*     The culture, customs, religions, gods these civilizations worshipped, architecture and government brought down by each civilization.

*     The difference between civilizations that started in one country (for example : Zhou, Qin and Han dynasties that was in China).

*     Different empires as well, empires that was started in pre-history period, which brought civil wars, classical age, great achievements that was brought by them and the golden age.

 

 

 

Grade 9

Students are to be able to:

 

*     Analyze the development and explain the significance of distinctive forms of political, social, and economic organization.

*     Achievements in art, architecture, literature, and philosophy, and assess their impact on society.

*     Observe the impact of industrial and political revolutions on the lives of people.
